Group Fundraising

Have a favorite non-profit? We are donating a total of over $20,000 this year, spread among groups who volunteer.

Group activities

  • range from 2 to 12 people,
  • last from 3 to 8 hours
  • and we’ll give your favorite 501(c)3 a donation from $200 to $1050.

Volunteer at any of the following race activities:

Last Chance BQ.2 Race   Saturday, 9/9/17  Fabyan Forest Preserve West Geneva  

Help set-up the race village, assist runners before the race welcoming them to the village, during the race at aid stations, or after the race as they celebrate and recover

Runner Expo  Thurs 9/14 thru Sat 9/16   Baker Community Center St. Charles  

Help set-up/tear down the expo booths and signage, welcome runners, and assist with packet pick-up.  A.M. and P.M. positions available

Village / Aid Station Setup  Sat 9/16  Illinois and 1st Street, St. Charles

Help construct the race village of tents, banners, tables, chairs, and barricades that will host 500 kids, 3800 runners, and thousands of spectators over race weekend.  Or guide labor as they load the aid station trucks.

Kids Marathon           Sat 9/16   Indiana and 1st Street, St. Charles

Help our Kids Marathon participants as they work towards completing their marathon the day before the Fox Valley Marathon races as they complete their final 1.2 miles to earn their marathon medal.

Village Operations  Sun 9/17  Illinois and 1st Street, St. Charles                         

Experience the excitement of 3,800 runners ready to put months of training to the test when you volunteer for Village Ops! Keep the Village running by helping distribute food and beverages to runners post-race or help with awards. You will help regulate access to the start corrals, and keep participants organized as they move toward the start line to kick off their Fox Valley Marathon, Half Marathon, or Fall Final 20 race. Also welcome them home with medals and blankets. We need a Village of Volunteers to run our Village!

Course Operations  Sun 9/17  Various Locations                                                     

Help keep things running along the course! Position includes course/signage set-up and tear down. Course marshal opportunities will also be available in the coming months.

Bring a group of 20 or more enthusiastic kids or adults to help support our runners along the course with cheers, water, and Gatorade.

Village Teardown  Sun 9/17  Illinois and 1st Street, St. Charles

Turn out the lights, the party’s over!  Help tear down the race village of tents, banners, tables, chairs, and barricades or guide labor as they unload the aid station trucks.

About the Fox Valley Marathon Races

Combining small race atmosphere with big race amenities, the Fox Valley Marathon Races are ideal for both veterans looking for a fast Boston Qualifier as well as first timers looking for an uncrowded, supportive, family-friendly race setting. Starting and ending in historic downtown St Charles, IL, the course winds through picturesque Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, and Aurora to a spectacular finish across the Fox River that can be seen from over a mile away. The course offers fantastic viewing spots for families and supporters, as well as frequent and well positioned aid stations that are staffed by the most supportive volunteer teams of any race you’ve run.
